1Heat the oven to 200C. Soften the butter and beat in the crushed garlic, chopped parsley and salt.

2Cut the bread into thick slices, not all the way through, so it stays as a loaf. Spread the garlic butter into each cut.

3Push the grated cheese down into the gaps and over the top, then wrap loosely in foil.

4Bake for 8 minutes, then open the foil and bake another 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling. Pull apart and serve hot.
