The recipe

    Squeeze the sausagemeat from the skins and fry it in a large pot in a little oil for 5 minutes, breaking it up as it browns.

    Add the chopped onion, garlic and diced red pepper and cook for another 4 minutes until softened.
  3. 3
    Stir in the chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, crumbled stock cube, mixed herbs and the pasta, then pour in enough water to just cover the pasta.

    Bring to a simmer and cook for 12-14 minutes, stirring often, until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened.

    Check the sausage is cooked through, season to taste and serve.
