    Squeeze the sausage meat out of the skins and fry in a large pan, breaking it into chunks, for 6-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.

    Add the chopped onion and garlic and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. 3
    Stir in the chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, crumbled stock cube and mixed herbs, then add the pasta and enough water to just cover it.

    Simmer, stirring now and then, for 12-14 minutes until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened.

    Season to taste and serve straight from the pan.
