Crunchy breaded chicken in the air fryer, costed to the penny and far cheaper than a takeaway. Cheap chicken breast crisps up beautifully with no frying.

The recipe

    Put the chicken breasts between two sheets of cling film and bash gently until an even thickness, then season.
  2. 2
    Set up three bowls: flour, the beaten eggs, and the breadcrumbs mixed with paprika, crushed garlic, salt and pepper.

    Coat each chicken breast in flour, then egg, then press firmly into the breadcrumbs.

    Preheat the air fryer to 190C, lay the chicken in a single layer and spray lightly with oil.

    Cook for 15 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and the chicken is cooked right through with no pink meat. Serve with chips or salad.
