1Heat the oven to 200C. Brown the beef mince with the chopped onion in a large pan for 6-8 minutes until no pink remains.

2Stir in the garlic, chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, crumbled stock cube and mixed herbs, then simmer for 15 minutes.

3Meanwhile cook the pasta in boiling salted water until just shy of al dente, then drain.

4Stir the pasta through the meat sauce, tip into an ovenproof dish and scatter over the grated cheese.

5Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden and bubbling, then serve.
