1Whisk the eggs, milk, cinnamon and half the sugar together in a wide shallow dish.

2Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, turning to coat both sides and letting it soak for a few seconds.

3Melt half the butter in a frying pan over a medium heat.

4Fry the bread for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and set, adding the rest of the butter as needed.

5Dust with the remaining sugar and serve warm.
