1Brown the sausages in a dry pan for a few minutes to colour them, then add to the slow cooker. (Optional but worth it.)

2Add the sliced onion, carrot, chopped potato, drained beans, chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, herbs, Worcestershire sauce and crumbled stock cube.

3Pour in a splash of water to just cover, stir, and cook on LOW for 6 hours (or HIGH for 3).

4Season and serve with crusty bread or mash to mop up the sauce.
