A cheaty Philly cheesesteak, costed to the penny. Thin-sliced steak with soft onions and peppers piled into a bun and smothered in melted cheese.

    Slice the steak as thinly as you can and season with the pepper. Slice the onion and green pepper thinly too.
  2. 2
    Melt the butter in a large frying pan and cook the onion and pepper for 6-7 minutes until soft and lightly coloured, then set aside.
  3. 3
    Turn the heat up, add the steak and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until just cooked through, adding the garlic and worcestershire sauce for the last minute.

    Return the onion and pepper to the pan, pile everything together and lay the sliced cheese over the top to melt.
  5. 5
    Split and toast the buns, then spoon in the cheesy steak and serve straight away.
