    Put the oil and a couple of corn kernels in a large pan with a tight lid over a medium heat. When those kernels pop, the oil is ready.
  2. 2
    Add the rest of the corn in a single layer, put the lid on and give the pan a shake. Cook, shaking now and then, until the popping slows to a few seconds between pops.

    Take off the heat straight away so nothing burns and tip into a big bowl.
  4. 4
    Melt the butter, drizzle it over, scatter with salt and toss well before serving.
