    Heat the oil and soften the diced onion and green pepper for 7-8 minutes.

    Stir in the garlic, paprika, pul biber and tomato puree and cook for 2 minutes.

    Add the chopped tomatoes, drained beans, salt, pepper and a mugful of water, then bring to a gentle simmer.

    Cook uncovered for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is thick and the beans are hot through.

    Check the seasoning and serve in bowls with rice or bread.
